    The business development team is responsible for managing the Stamps-Endicia partner network of 450+ partners who are leveraging Stamps-Endicia PC Postage solutions.  Further, the team will evaluate and manage opportunities leveraging both the Stamps-Endicia PC Postage solution along with solutions from across the Stamps.com portfolio of companies, including ShipStation, ShippingEasy, ShipWorks, and ShipEngine.  The Business Development team works closely with the Partner Management team to ensure we are delivering value to our partners and understanding the changes impact each of the ecosystems our solutions support in the market. 

     

    The Business Development Manager identifies new market opportunities to contribute to customer acquisition growth, shipping volume acquisition growth, and financial growth.  As Stamps.com continues to grow in the US with new products and internationally with enhancements to our existing products, the business development team is a critical element to identify and win new partnership opportunities that will achieve our growth objectives.

    Responsibilities

    Primary Objectives:

    1. Identify and Manage new market opportunities
    2. Partner acquisition growth
    3. Manage executive-level communications

    Essential Position Duties:

    1. Identify and Manage new market opportunities
      • Identify new partners supporting fulfillment and shipping operations that can leverage PC Postage, ShipEngine, Global Post, or Global Advantage Program solutions
      • Manage existing partners and expand reach of products within the existing partner network.
      • Identify at-risk partners and work to ensure Stamps.com delivers world class products and partner support necessary to retain and grow the partner network.
      • Negotiate contracts and sales opportunities.
    1. Partner acquisition growth
      • Identify opportunities to help Stamps.com partners grow their customer base, shipping volume, and overall revenue by aligning Stamps.com solutions with partner’s business objectives.
      • Listen to and understand partner/customer requirements specific to each unique partner environment.
      • Analyze market data
      • Evaluate partner capacity versus market opportunity and identify where partner acquisition is needed to fill coverage gaps..
    1. Manage executive-level communications
      • Communicate with Stamps.com executive management regarding partner opportunities and risks.
      • Collaborate with coworkers, partners, vendors, and customers to achieve strategic objectives.

     

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:                                                                  

    • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration.  
    • Three (3+) years' of experience working in a marketing, sales or business development environment.  
    • Previous experience in sales, marketing, and/or product management related to ecommerce fulfillment software solutions.
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. 

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
    • Must have exceptional written and oral communications skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and cultural skills
    • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Working knowledge of partner and end-user multi-carrier enablement and utilization
    • Working knowledge of single and multi-carrier fulfillment software industry
    • Working knowledge of competitive landscape and differentiation amongst providers
    • Working knowledge of USPS parcel delivery services and USPS go-to-market and sales operations
    • Working knowledge of USPS pricing across the USPS ecosystem including customer and partner channels
    • Working knowledge of UPS, FedEx, DHL, and consolidators market
    • Working knowledge of Domestic, international, and cross-border ecommerce
    • US ecommerce market and ecosystem of software solutions preferred

    Computer/Software/Application Proficiency:                                                   

    • Experience working with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and/or Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Pages and Internet research tools. 

    Travel Requirements:

    • 30% to 60% travel required within domestic US market to include visits to partner locations and industry conferences.
