    Customer acquisition is a critical component of a subscription business and the Manager, Marketing is accountable for the successful management of two of our largest and strategic Marketing channels –Podcasts/Radio and Television. The position reports directly to the Vice President, Marketing.


    The Customer Acquisition team plays an integral role in the family of companies by launching and optimizing direct response campaigns to profitably acquire new mailing and shipping customers.

    Primary Objectives:

    1. Develop and implement new creatives, offers and promotions, and segmentation strategies to increase response and conversion rates.
    2. Manage external media agencies.
    3. Negotiate contracts with new and existing vendors.
    4. Supervise one or more team members.
    5. Contribute to profitability of overall business.

    Essential Position Duties (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks):

    1. Develop and implement newcreatives, offers and promotions, and segmentation strategies to increase response and conversion rates.
      • Research, plan, optimize, and execute marketing campaigns (including Podcast/Radio, TV, etc) to profitably acquire new small business customers in the US and internationally.
      • Research non-linear Television advertising opportunities (OTT, VOD, etc) and propose testing and media strategy where appropriate.
      • Optimize conversion funnel of website visitors that come from direct marketing campaigns.
      • Analyze results and prepare reports and presentations to senior management.
      • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments (Design, Development, Finance, Accounting, Product, etc).
      • Train influencers on products from and its subsidiaries.
      • Represent the company at meetings with networks and influencers.
    2. Manage external media agencies.
      • Act as primary point of contact.
      • Direct planning and buying strategies and execution.
    3. Manage budgets that exceed $10MM in various marketing channels.
      • Determine proper ad frequency and media mix to ensure optimal ROI.
      • Negotiate contracts with new and existing vendors.
    4. Supervise one or more team members.
      • Provide oversight and career development.
    5. Contribute to profitability of overall business.


    Education and/or Experience:                                                                  

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a marketing field, MBA preferred
    • Minimum of Six or more (6+) years marketing experience with a focus on internet-related products
    • Experience in planning, executing, and analyzing performance of direct marketing campaigns
    • Experience in control-based testing and statistical methodologies for improved targeting
    • Experience in Podcasts and Radio, Direct Response Television (DRTV), direct mail is preferred
    • Experience working with, or for, media-buying agencies preferred

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Must be a self-starter and be able to effectively multi-task, working well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and to own the success or failure of marketing channels and initiatives
    • Ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving environment
    • Highly organized, with strong communication and relationship-building skills
    • Excellent analytic skills required

    Computer/Software/Application Proficiency:                                                   

    • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
    • An understanding of Tableau preferred

    Travel Requirements:

    • Less than 10%; Occasional, but infrequent travel may be necessary
