    The Senior Program Manager will work with product development, marketing, and other cross-functional groups to define and develop new products or major enhancements to existing products. This role reports to the Director, Program Management.

    Responsibilities

    Primary Objectives:

    1. Plan and manage software deployments for new products launches and/or major enhancements to existing products.
    2. Lead project teams.
    3. Meet product launch and enhancement target.

    Essential Position Duties (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks):

    1. Plan and manage software deployments for new products launches and/or major enhancements to existing products
      • Interpret broad visions and concepts and develop them into specific project requirements
      • Review and refine product requirements and technical specification documents
      • Build a functional understanding of the Stamps.com system architecture and apply this knowledge to daily project tasks
      • Define and drive the project schedule
      • Provide project updates to management and development teams
      • Successfully prepare multiple project deliverables for production deployment
      • Understand, refine, and apply company processes for tracking and solving operational issues
    2. Lead project teams
      • Exercise leadership in removing project roadblocks and articulating potential project risks
      • Demonstrate a concerted effort to gain in-depth product knowledge and apply such skills to drive projects forward
      • Continuously deliver accurate, refined project schedules, performance metrics, and status reports.
      • Consistently adhere to Stamps.com PMO methodologies, best practices, and contribute to improving existing processes.
    3. Meet product launch and enhancement targets
      • Drive projects through to completion
      • Escalate problems, uncertainties and roadblocks to management

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:                                    

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Three or more (3+) years project management experience
    • PMP® certification a plus
    • ScrumMaster® certification a plus
    • Computer science background or several years of experience in the software development industry

     

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills
    • Proven analytical skills
    • Inspired to remove complexity in order to make all constituents have a common understanding of goals and objectives
    • Capable of discussing both large scale planning efforts as well as micro-level decision making.
    • Adept at making strategic tradeoff recommendations to management with the goal of shipping quality products on schedule

    Computer/Software/Application Proficiency:        

    • Microsoft Project
    • JIRA
    • Confluence
    • API Development, with an emphasis on XML- and SOAP-based APIs
    • C#-based Applications
    • Client/Server Communication
    • SQL and/or Database Management

     

    Travel Requirements:

    • Less than 10% - Occasional travel to Sunnyvale, California office (4-6x year, generally day trips)
